yes i did, not long after my post. all seems well. one of them disappeared
on me but i assume it's in there somewhere under the mulch.

funny thing happened. about 2 months(?) ago i put some more asparagus seeds
in a punnet to see if they would come up before winter. then i gave up on
them & planted celery seeds on top instead & went away for 3 weeks. when i
came back, both asparagus & celery have come up :-) this is fun as i will
have more to plant in spring!

Yes, I'm sure it probably is too - proper garden thugs. No doubt it will
pop up and try to strangle you as you pass by sometime in spring.

Could almost be Permaculture at work. Pick asparagus and celery at the one
time and drop straight into an omelette together.

I still haven't moved my rogue asparagus plants but it just hasn't stopped
raining here for long enough to get any outdoor tasks (like clothes washing)
done. Not that I'm complaining mind you. Nice Hughie, keep chucking it
down Hughie.....
