East coast NSW OZ (warm temperate, late winter). I am not planting yet due
to the possibilty of a late frost. I have all my summer seedlings in trays
in a plastic hot house ready to go in about 2 weeks. I have 48 cultivars in
trays mostly veges but some flowers.

Right now I am picking asparagus, broccoli, cabbage, peas, several letuces
and leafy greens, leeks, colards, kale. Waiting for strawberrys and
artichokes.

Planted some Painted Lady beans today to make up for all the peas that never
came up :-(

PLanted punnets of tomatoes, chillies, eggplant and capsicum, and perilla.
Will put them in my mini-greenhouse to encourage early germination.

And I crawled around the back yard pulling up bindies :-/

Front yard has heaps more bindies...

I have lots of lemons. Silver beet and beetroot are doing well.
Crimson-flowered broad beans are flowering prolifically. Parsnips are coming
up all over the place, along with oakleaf lettuce. Radishes and carrots in
there somewhere.

North Queensland tropical spring.........

Just planted Cucumber, Tomato, Spring Onion, Lettuce & Cabbage as well
as cottage garden flowers.....wife has strawberries in pot and
Gerbera's in pots. Have also just potted up some mixed herbs....

Should be interesting to see how the crop turns out.

You are way ahead of those of us in Soutern climes. Fancy having tomotoes
in! Here they don't go in till after the Melbourne Cup is run.

Nah, few years back. I think climbing beans should either be planted in early
spring or late summer, so I'm trying them now. I can plant dwarf beans right
through summer.

Collard greens are a brassica, a bit like kale in that they don't form a
head and you keep cutting them and they last more than one season. The
leaves are quite large and fleshy where kale is thinner. Cabbage moth grubs
don't bother them nearly as much as cabbage or cauliflower and they keep
going in hot weather.

They sound like worth trying. Did you use seeds?

somewhere?

Do you remember the killer frost that all of Southern Oz got last year? I
think it stretched from the Blue Mountains right down into Victoria and got
all the grape vines etc. I'm in the Southern Tablelands of NSW.
