Say no more, a nod is asgood as a win kto a blind man....
This is what I suspected was going to happen. From the Age Melbourne. 15 Dec 2007 PURE drinking water would be used on parched sports grounds under a secret plan put to Melbourne councils last week. Under the plan, councils would buy the potable water at highly inflated prices and the profits would be used to fund water-saving projects. Councils were asked to indicate how much they would be prepared to pay for extra water. The Sunday Age has learned that the Department of Sustainability and Environment and Yarra Valley Water sought expressions of interest from the councils for the controversial plan at a meeting last Tuesday. It is believed the water has become available due to savings made by industry, companies and possibly water authorities. But some people at Tuesday's meeting thought the water on offer may have resulted from residential savings. |
