I'd like to espalier a mandarin. Is this a suitable plant - and are
there preferred varieties TIA David |

You also have the option of a dwarf rootstock which will give a more compact tree which will grow to 2m. |

Thanks for the advice!
Get an imperial mandarin on a good rootstock which means grafted. Then just keep pruning so you get the fan shape. You also have the option of a dwarf rootstock which will give a more compact tree which will grow to 2m. |
