2003 Annual Show Weekend 22/23 February 9 am - 4 pm Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens Auditorium, Brisbane Features :- Australia's largest selection of common and rare palms and cycads for sale, both plants and seeds. Displays of native and exotic palms and cycads. Bookstore Educational displays. Membership. Food and refreshments. Admission: Adults - $2.00 Children - Freeeeeeee but wait, this year there's more.......... Annual Show Dinner Dinner Guest Speaker : Bill Baker, from the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. Bill is a systematic botanist specialising in palms with a special interest in the palm flora of South-East Asia, especially New Guinea. Members of the IPS will be aware of Bill's many contributions to the journal Palms. Bill last visited Australia in 2001, and presented a paper on "The Palms of New Guinea" at the 5th International Flora Melesiana Symposium held at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney.
