Lavender pruning

Hello all...

I have a massive great lavender hedge that gets very little sun so it doesnt
flower very much but it is in spectacular health none the less. I would
love to give it a jolly good haircut but is this time of year ok to do
that???

Regards

Flossie

You can do it any time, unless you have frosts, but don't cut back behind
the green growth or it will die.
Cheers,

Lavender pruning

I am no lavender expert but have grown many many plants in my Mandurah
garden over the years. When they become "leggy" I have chopped them right
back to the main trunk and they have regrown wonderfully. Many of my plants
are now around 8 years old! It may be the climate where I live I am not
sure but I know my husband - prior to our marriage - used to "trim" his with
his rotary lawn mower and they always came back. He is definitely not a
gardener!! but I love him all the same.
