Surefire no-chemical fix

THIS works for me. I do this every year, usually once or twice only.

On a nice cold, dewy night go outside with a good torch and a bucket of
water at about 9 or 10pm. Head for the lawn if you have it, coz they
love to graze there. If not, hunt a bit and you'll find your quarry
somewhere lush. (Wherever they are, they'll be eating).

Pick up every snail you can see and drop it in the bucket. When you're
done, decant the water off, put the snails in a plastic bag and bin 'em.

Do this a few nights in a row and you won't HAVE a snail problem. You'll
notice the numbers diminishing each night.

You won't get them all, but you don't *NEED* to get them all - you just
need to put a big dent in the snail population.

BTW, we have toddlers and I flatly refuse to use snail pellets or baits
of any kind (I don't care what the labelling says about being pet-safe
etc etc. Kids don't need the exposure).

Does anyone know how to keep snails off the garden which is safe for
children as we have a young child who likes to do gardening and we also
look after children

Thanx Brad
