rose pruning

Hi,

I was wondering if i should strip the leaves off my roses when i prune them
or leave them there? I live in Adelaide and was told the leaves will most
likely not drop off due to the climate here so i wasn't sure whether i
should do it myself or jsut leave them on.

thanks
Luke

I dont think it makes a diference.
My last rose pruning exercise involved accidentally running a motor mower
over a small rose bush. It's growing better than ever.

And I use the trusty chainsaw for my roses....

Still, I have to keep cutting them back....

Luke,

If you strip the leaves off you make it a bit easier to get good coverage
with the fungicide spray that you should use at that time, beyond that I
really don't think it matters a great deal. They are pretty tough
characters.
