Default Which Lawnmower?

I'm thinking of buying a petrol lawn mower this weekend & was wondering if
anyone had any advice on what brand/type would be ideal. I would like
something that isn't too heavy & starts easily, possibly mulches.... I don't
know what else I will be looking for.

g'day wanda,

you don't say what sort of terrain you are mowing ie.,. slopes or flat
lawn etc.,?

also my best first up advice is to go to an indipendant mower
specialist shop and have a look at the range of mowers available, you
may have to shop around to find a knowledgable one though, but
generally they will be able to show you a large range and you will end
up with a good quality machine that you can use. find someone you can
relate to no good dealing with someone you ahve no repore with as you
will be going back there for tuning/servicing etc.,.

i have some useful hints on mower selection on my web page, and would
gladly have e/mail chat with you along the way to try and help
further.

take care don't buy from discounters unless you know what you are
doing and as in most things you get what you pay for. so might be best
not to rush into buying one this weekend have a look around first.

Hi Len

I have both types of terrain surrounding my house. The backyard is flat &
there's a slope up to the road at the front. I'll definitely take a look at
your page before buying.

Thanks

g'day wanda,

depending on the steepness of the slope you may be limited to buying a
2 stroke powered mower.
