Grass burning problem...help required

They are about 12 18 inches below the finished surface. I am now seeing the footprint of the footings as burn marks on the lawn. I don't think it's the lime out of the cement if it's from an *old* building, and at that depth. Perhaps the footings were sprayed with something toxic for pest/weed control? All I can think of is to water the area to leach out the contaminant, or have your soil tested. Frankly, it sounds all a bit creepy. I would be looking at testing. -- Chookie -- Sydney, Australia (Replace "foulspambegone" with "optushome" to reply) "Jeez; if only those Ancient Greek storytellers had known about the astonishing creature that is the *Usenet hydra*: you cut off one head, and *a stupider one* grows back..." -- MJ, cam.misc |
