azalea and rhododendron emergency move

gday all,
i have some azalea and smallish rhododendrons(approx 1m in hight) that i
hoped might survive the summer to be relocated to a shadier, more
sheltered spot in the winter. however they are already showing bad signs
of sun burn and dry stress. my question to any gurus of these plants,
will they stand a better chance of surviving the summer if i pot them
now and keep them watered in the shade, or will a mid-summer and under
stress move just finish them off? any help, thoughts or advice great
fully accepted.

cheers,
evan.

Build a temporary shade house over them and move them in winter.

OR.... just prune them back hard and water well till autumn. Then consider
lifting them. Play it by the weather, and when you prune them try your luck
with a few cuttings incase they expire.
