Default Propagating grass trees

I have collected some grass tree seeds and would like to try and grow them
from scratch. Can anyone tell me when I should plant them and what sort of
soil I should use and watering / transplanting etc. I assume a well
draining, sandy, coarse type, but only guessing really. I realise this
would be a long process to get a sizeable plant, but I've got plenty of
time!

Thanks.
