drill attachment - start mowers etc.,.

when i was a mower mechanic there was an attachment sold that could be
fitted into the power drill and then fit any socket to for those who
had problems starting their mowers, i think it was standard equipment
for old victa owners grin grin only jokin'.

the question is can this device still be purchased or is there
something similar around and where may it be purchased from?

Best place to try is a tool specialist shop.
I have a socket set that come with a screwdriver, and screw driver bits.
The screwdriver had the screwdriver bits, alan key bits etc, but also an
attachment to use the smaller sockets on the screwdriver. Then add another
attachment and you could use the larger sockets.
It was only about $29 from kmartt a few year ago, and the ratchet lasted
about 6months.
I have seen sets with a screwdriver, sockets, and screwdriver bits around
shops.
I know it may not be of much help, but one of those sets mentioned just
above would be the go, or a tool specialist may sell the bits separately.
Anyway, the exact tool may not be out there, but similar ones are.
Good luck
