Syzygium Leuhmannii

I have planted 3 of these 3 years ago & they are now well over 2 metres tall
but have not had any flowers/fruit.
A friend tells me that his are flowering at less than a meter tall & have in
fact flowered since the day they were purchased.
Am I doing something wrong?

Perhaps the difference is due to whether grown from cuttings or seed.

Amount of sunlight and soil conditions (nutrients) have a major effect on
flowering.
