Default keeping dried culms green?

Hello,
I was fortunate to aquire some 4 - 5 inch diameter clums and I want to
split them in half (with a machete?) and use them to "panel" a wall in
my bedroom. I love the look of the bamboo grove they came from , but
I especially like the green/olive color of the culms and wonder if
there is anything I can do to prevent them from turning brown as they
dry. Has anyone succeeded at doing this? I'd sure hate to have to
paint them!

Thanks,

-- Dave

Paint. They will turn brown and dry out after they are cut. The only
bamboo I've seen keep it's color is black bamboo.

Yep, the bamboo will dry out and lose it's color as color is a function of plant life.

I would suggest once it is dry to sand and use colored stains rather than paint as this will allow the texture to remain rather than being filled in by the paint.
