Bamboo is a grass, not a tree.

Height varies from less than a meter/3feet to more than 20 meters/65
feet - depends on the particular species, age of the plant, and local
conditions. The largest ones are not fond of cold weather.

There are many kinds of bamboo with all sorts of different heights. There are hardy bamboos which will take varying degrees of frost, some of them down to about -25C, and tropical bamboos which don't like cold at all, and intermediate kinds. And all of them need enough water in the summer.

Perhaps you'd like to say what conditions you have, and what you'd like your bamboo to do, and we can point you in the direction of suitable kinds. A few areas of the world, typically those with very cold winters or excessively dry summers, aren't suitable for bamboo, but most of the rest there is something OK.
