Default Question about depth of runners

I'm in NYC, growing several varieties of bamboo.

I'm growing p. Bissetti (dwarf), p. nigra, and p. decora.

The p. bissetti is now in its third year and will probably reach 12 to 14 feet.

The p. decora is about two years old, and reached about four feet last year.

The p. nigra is two years old and reached about seven feet last year. The new
shoots are much thicker, so they'll probably go a lot higher.

I was curious about how deep down in the ground the runners go, assuming of
course, that they run freely and don't hit a barrier that might make them go
deeper.

Default Question about depth of runners

You will find most of them in the top 8-12" of soil.
30" is a good fepth for barrier
24" will probably work
