Default black bamboo

I have a black bamboo (7.5ft 5 canes) a real beauty. It was pot bound for a long time. Re-potted last year, this year leaf growth is prolific, so much so that canes are bowing over excessively. Is it ok to give light support, what should you feed to strengthen the canes.

These bamboos are beautiful and tolerant.
