Default [IBC] azalea basics

I just bought two hershey red.. hardy azaleas. two plants in about a one
gallon nursery pot...
they were being grown in an indoor exotic greenhouse. They are indoors
now... in my apartment
lots of leggy growth.... with leaves only on the ends... and lots of
beutiful blooms.
allot of the leaves have mold.. and some black powdery stuff. but the
blooms are plentiful and healthy looking
I did some pruning the other week just to make them a little less
wild..remove some dead stuff.. and maybe not lose so much water in the dry
indoor air. my question is.. what do i do now? still has blooms. leggy
growth with foliage on the ends..which i think has an attack of mold or
fungus. there are quite a few new shoots on the inside parts of the tree.
should I prune it way back to the new growth? should i wait till spring??
do azaleas need a dormant period??
what about repotting?.. id like to seperate them into a traning pot of ther
own. thanks

steve.. lancaster pa
