[IBC] What species is my Bonsai?
Hi Newsgroup.
Could any of you guys tell me how I can find out what species my Bonsai Tree is? Are there any good websites that have pictures? Thanks You could post a picture at: http://www.internetbonsaiclub.org/ag...ite=internetbo nsaiclub and someone's bound to be able to ID it. Chances are it is: 1. A Serissa - small, dark green leaves, tiny white flowers 2. A juniper - dull green spiny, short needles that prickle your fingers when you take hold of them 3. A Ficus - 1-2 inch glossy green leaves, pointed tips Do a separate search for "bonsai and" each of those names and you may find it. If you bought it at a garden center, mall or kiosk somewhere, immediately removed the glued-on rocks and replace them with a little good potting soil. Water ONLY when the soil feels dry -- no matter what any instructions which may have come with the tree might say. Keep a stick jammed deep in the soil half way between the trunk and the pot. Remove it every morning and feel the dirty end. If it feels damp, do not water.
