Default [IBC] cinnamon as pesticide -- BE CAREFUL!

When in doubt, ask! I "asked Jeeves" about cinnamon as a
pesticide. One of the pages I got back and there were scores!
read:

Cinnamon Oil vs. Mites (and More)

Here's a real novelty: a GOOD-SMELLING (at least to most
people)
pesticide. Cinnamon oil sprays can be highly effective for
controlling
mites, aphids, and even fungi that attack greenhouse-grown
plants.
And there needn't be a lot of worrying about health and safety
concerns when spraying cinnamon oil -- after all, it's a food
ingredient! But there's one BIG problem with using cinnamon oil
as a
pesticide; many plants are sensitive to it and are damaged by
concentrations high enough to work well against plants and
diseases.
That problem apparently has been solved by the Mycogen
Corporation,
which recently obtained registration for Cinnamite, a special
formulation that retains the pesticidal properties of cinnamon
oil while
toning down its phytotoxic characteristics. Several commercial
greenhouse growers who have tried Cinnamite are uniformly
enthusiastic
about its effectiveness ... and about its nice smell
We recommend you contact local Extension personnel regarding
availability of Cinnamite in your area.
