[IBC] Hibiscus branch fattening ... remove flowers or not?

I am trying to fatten a lower branch on a hibiscus bonsai . Does
removing flowers from this branch help this process or hurt it.

Thanks

Although I would ask why anyone would try to Bonsai a Hibiscus? I
think that the more the branch has to support (leaves and flowers) the
thicker it will become.
