[IBC] Cut Paste; was [IBC] Maple advice

It also is as likely to trap infectious organisms under the past
as it is to keep them out.

I'll repeat my (derided) own personal "cut paste:" A palm-full
of spit and a pinch or tow of garden dirt mixed together and
rubbed onto LARGE cuts (small cuts are on their own). And no, it
is VERY unlikely that DIRT will have an organism that is harmful
to a tree.

FWIW, last year I was in a ficus workshop with Ed Trout, who recommended the
use of cut paste because he felt it was effective against borers.

Other folks seem to use whatever you can slather on the cut, from Jim's
recipe, all the way to (I'm serious here) Preparation H.
