[IBC] ramifying underground
I have a large .... about 4 inch trunk diameter maple in the ground. it was
trunk chopped down from about 16 feet this winter and is sprouting nicely. I'm thinking about digging it up maybe next spring. I would like to start ramifying the roots while it it still in the ground this year. getting an axe and a shovel and making a ring around the tree.. severing as many of the roots as i can..hopefully starting some new root growth closer to the trunk. does anyone have any experience/tips with this? after i make the ring... should i place something in the ground around the tree? steve w lancaster pa ************************************************** ****************************** ++++Sponsored, in part, by Evergreen Gardenworks++++ ************************************************** ****************************** -- The IBC HOME PAGE & FAQ: http://www.internetbonsaiclub.org/ -- +++++ Questions?
