Chopsticks in the soil

G'day all...

the Persiano pick. (Chopsticks in the soil).

I use bamboo skewers rather than chop sticks...much easier on the roots.

My practice goes like this:

1. Set the skewers into the soil of each plant.

2. Check each skewer for watering needs.

3. Leave a colored (with a marking pen) skewer in each plant that needs
watering (less than half of my plants require watering every day).

3. Next day...put skewers into pots that were not watered previous day...

4. Follow steps #2 and #3...

After a few days without significant changes in weather, you will know which
trees need water every day, and which ones can go every other day. Leave the
skewers in the ones that need watering every day.

When the weather changes, go through steps 1-4 again.

This works well for me...with fast draining soil...in spite of temps into the
90s.

Have a good day.
