[IBC] multiple trunk ficus(plus general griping)
Poor guy! A poster is in real trouble when both Jim and I crab at him.
I'll even go a step further than Jim: Don't buy a tree at a nursery: buy a tree at a GOOD, reputable nursery. Recently I visited a place that specialized in indoor plants. Orchids, succulents, tropicals, lots of good stuff. Then I saw they had a "bonsai" section: crappy little plants in tiny pots for 10 times what they were worth. A woman asked me for advice in picking something out for her son-in-law. I told her the bonsai were crappy and overpriced (well, you know *me*), and all she had to do was go to the tropical section, pick out a bougie [they had a great selection of thick-trunked espaliers], then go to the pot section and pick out a pot, and she'd have something much better than the twig they were trying to sell her for $38. She gave me a sad look which said "I'm not prepared to put that much effort into my son-in-law" and she bought the twig bougie. I'm not blaming her: I'm blaming the nursery for defaming the art of bonsai. ************************************************** ****************************** ++++Sponsored, in part, by Evergreen Gardenworks++++ ************************************************** ****************************** -- The IBC HOME PAGE & FAQ: http://www.internetbonsaiclub.org/ -- +++++ Questions?
