Default [IBC] Web Site Changes

Hello everyone,

First, I would like to apologize if you experience downtime on our site
today, I am finalizing a few things on a complete redesign. Somehow, a few
errors are coming up that were not coming up during the testing phase on a
different server, so I have to figure that out. Please bear with me :-)

John Jarret and I have agreed that I would take back the webmastership of
the site for the time being.

I have undertaken a complete redesign of the site from the ground up, which
will hopefully help us maintain the site better and be more regular about
updating and adding information.

I would appreciate your help in notifying me of bugs as you encounter them.

Among other things, people can now add their own links, vendor information,
book reviews, etc.

Thank you for your patience, and feedback.

I urge everyone to have a look and try out the pages. I've been
working with Nic on adding this and that to the areas where he
allows it (trees, vendors and books) and it works for me, but we
need lots of folks to make a try at it, and also to spot typos
and things that don't quite work right. Please also take a look
at the "dead links" page and let us know if there are new, "live"
links to those folks.

Kudos to Nic (and ESPECIALLY for the "Site Map!") Take it from
someone who occasionally does web searches for other folks, a
website without a site map ain't worth spit.

Agreed. Many pairs of eyes are better than one. I expect you may find
bugs here and there, but if people don't let me know, I can't fix them :-)

Yep, that is also important, lots of good folks' sites went down (Off the
top of my head, Ernie Kuo's, Craig Coussins', and...)

Kudos to Nic (and ESPECIALLY for the "Site Map!")

Thanks.

Hi, Jim.

I was checking out the vendor list. Is a by-state version in the works?

Should we add the vendors we have submitted to you?

Thanks,

Bart

Hi, Jim.

the works?

I believe so.

No. Nic will add what I got -- which finally turned out to be
fairly extensive. This is a test version.

Yep, there is a State by State in the works, I guestimate two weeks for it
to be up and working, as I have less time to finalize these details with my
upcoming move. (It's a LOT of work to plan a trans-oceanic move!)

Other than not being sorted by state, it is a final version. All vendors I
have received from Jim have been put in the database, unless I skipped one
by mistake when doing the data entry. Please specify which one you can't
find that you know you submitted.

If you are a vendor and want to be included, or know of a vendor you
particularly like and want to include it, you can do so by:
Going to: http://www.internetbonsaiclub.org/addvendor.php and fill out the
form there (My preferred method as I don't have to retype everyting)
or
Email me with all the info needed (as outlined at previous URL).

Thanks.
