What kind of soil is best when re-potting? Can one use just regular potting
soil?

Thanks,
K.

No, bonsai do best in bonsai soil. There must be someone in Canada selling it.
In the absence of obtainable bonsai soil, I would use about 1/3 finely ground
pine or fir bark, 1/3 fired clay particles (like Turface), and 1/3 crushed
granite chicken grit, with 10% charcoal added.

Oh there is special bonsai soil? I will have to look at my local garden
gallery, thanks.

In the absence of a brand name bonsai soil, would the materials you
mentioned be available at a gardening store? (e.g. Holland Park, Terra,
etc.)
