[IBC] cold house?
Shireen,
a cold house is a greenhouse where you keep the temperature just above freezing, say, at 3 to 5° C or so. The humidity is quite high ( I don't have any gadget to measure it, so I can't give you the exact data, sorry). Before I had the greenhouse in my garden, I wintered my dwarf pomegranates in a cold (frost-free) garage. They don't mind standing in darkness, as they don't have leaves in winter anyway. Hope this helps Ulli Bauer South Germany, zone 7B Am Freitag, 14. November 2003 17:41 schrieben Sie: What's a cold house? It's recommended for some plants like dwarf pomegranate for over-wintering. I live in an apartment without a balcony so it's probably not possible to build one. But if anyone on the list winters their plants in a "cold house", I'd like to learn more about the conditions (light, temperature, etc..)
