[IBC] friendly dilemma

A friend of mine has several very nice bonsai, which are starting to look
rather bleak.

Offer to come over and help him water and prune.

Nina.

[IBC] friendly dilemma

One thing I forgot to mention that some have already
suggested...I did offer
to go over and help maintain his collection. He said very frankly, NO. I
did not mean it as an insult, but I think he perceived it as such.

You offered, he refused. Don't push it. He'll remember, if at some point
he wants your help, he'll ask. That's *&all* you can do.

Nic

[IBC] friendly dilemma

Keith, wrong approach. Don't offer to help. This can wound pride which
might be all your friend has left. Instead, ask (beg even) him to "teach"
you. This could give him a reason to perk up and work on his trees, you
need him! Besides, I bet he can indeed teach you things you don't even know
that you don't know ;-)
