[IBC] Some species of tropical trees 1

Good Day to All, Steph[anie?] [1]Bombax Ceiba - Silk Cotton ? Hopeless,one to three branches and lots of imagination for 1 leaf equals x leaves. [If it is Silk Cotton] [2]Guaiacum officinale -Lignum Vitae ? Hopeless,one to two branches and some leaflets.You can waste years hoping for this to become anything. [3]Mangifera indica - Mango ? Depends on type - Tabletop sets fruit like a grape and the mangos are small about 1 1/2" or so.Trunk is rugged and branches enough. You need 3' to pull the tree into harmony. Easy to grow,but I have yet to put one into a Bonsai pot. The local Agricultural officers usually have a few in 5 gal.biscuit tins,left to grow for years. [4]Psidium Guajava Get a big trunk and you may have a passable tree.Cow pastures are good places to look. The local types are small fruited,yellow in colour and sweet or acid. Not a great subject. There is also the strawberry guava. Steph most of these are -nice- plants but not very satisfying or very impressive. You might find Seagrape,Tamarind,types of the Calliandra's,Lantanas,Murraya,Nicodemia Diversifolia [has a new name which I have forgotten],Citrus types - mandarin or the very small fruited not edible Fortunella types [has one to two seeds per fruit] or Gmelina H, much more satisfying.
