[IBC] wiring question

how long does it take a limb to 'set' in its new position? the
trees i have
in question are a gingko and a red maple, both young and

smallish branches,
nothing thicker than a pencil.

No way to give you a definitive answer here. It depends on the
tree, how fast it is growing, how much you are bending the
branches, time of year, etc.

One wires, watches to see that the wires don't cut into the
branch, removes them if they do, then sometimes immediately
re-wires when a branch's "memory" springs it back to its starting
point. At other times, a branch returns to its previous position
verrrry slooolly so it surprises you.

I don't have any gingko, so can't help with it. The maple branch
may take a while (depending on all of the above). Since maple is
a smooth-barked tree, you have to be especially careful about
wire marks.
