[IBC] Quercus Lobata
Is it possible to propagate Quercus Lobata (Valley Oak) by air layering?
And if so, is there a prefered time of year? Thanks, Ian ************************************************** ****************************** ++++Sponsored, in part, by John Quinn++++ ************************************************** ****************************** -- The IBC HOME PAGE & FAQ: http://www.internetbonsaiclub.org/ -- +++++ Questions? Timing will depend on the health of the parent plant and also on your local climatic conditions.Early to mid summer seems to be ok for me. Basic air layering techniques apply. No fancy stuff. After 3-4 weeks you should be able to see some root formation. Don't be in a hurry to take the plastic of, let the roots develop and harden a bit. Good luck.
