[IBC] Broom Style

I have a Okame Cherry, Prunus x incamp 'Okame', and want to make a broom style tree. The tree was purchased from a nursery as landscape material and I want to reduce the tree to approx 15-18" before making the 'V' cut. I wnat to make the 'V' cut several i
nches below the initial trunk chop. My question is about the 'binding' around the 'V' cut. I plan to bind the sides of the 'V' by going around the trunk and covering all the edge of the 'V'. I also plan to use cut-paste over the cut 'iside of the 'V' Is
there anything else I need to know/do befrore making the 'V' cut? The diameter of the trunk is approx 3". The rootball is B&B (balled & burlapped.) I plan to plant the tree into a large growing box once the 'V' cut has been made. Thanks -
