Default [IBC] Airlayer Texas Ebony?

Has anyone ever successfully airlayered a Texas Ebony? Mine has a branch
I'd like to layer off that I think would have the makings of a mame or small
shohin.

Thanks.

Almost all legumes layer (or grow from cuttings) easily.

If it's pencil size or less, I'd do a cutting, rather than a
layer.

I tried! Without sucess! I left an air layer on for one year, and not
even the sign of a root! :-(
But you might need a different rooting hormone than the average home
grown one. I have air layered the Brazilian rain tree (of the same
family, I think) . I had roots in under a month!

Bill,

Yes, I have and they do fine; however cuttings are not nearly so
easy. They can be done, but with difficulty and never consistently. I
find that a tent ( plastic baggy) is almost a necessity to guarantee any
chance of success.
