[IBC] fukien tea query

hello folks

i have a fukien tea which was in fine bloom last year but is

currently
without leaves and covered in small, brown, furry bud-like

things. is this
an ex-fukien tea or is there still some hope?

Sounds like aphids. A pyrethrum spray (Concern, etc.) or a soap
spray (also Concern, or Safers, or home brew -- see archives)
should do 'em in. Then, if it is indoors, get the tree
outdoors!!!!

Do not water much while the tree is leafless. Let soil dry out,
then water.

The brown furry things are the buds. Do not remove them. Scratch the bark
with your fingernail and if there is green under the bark the tree can
resprout.
At this time, do not fertilize or move the tree around. Keep it warm, above
65 F degrees, and make sure that the soil is watered only when it gets
slightly dry to the touch.
Good luck.
