The second picture could be the new Zelkova schneideriana rather than Chinese
elm. You would have to have an expert look at it close up. Meanwhile, grow it
like a Chinese elm.

The first one looks to me like myrtus communis, the common myrtle. Could
be wrong, though.

Not at all. It's a Ficus. Myrtle has small, close-set OPPOSITE leaves.
