[IBC] Is this a fig tree?

I just got another bonsai yesterday..unfortunately with nothing but the
price tag..so I'm not sure what species it is. I believe it is a fig..but
am not sure. If it is a fig...then it does not need a dormant period? and
therefore it is an indoor bonsai? Are figs ok with defoliation?
Here is a few pics I took:

any info is greatly appreciated..thx

If it is a fig..

Ficus benjaminia, weeping fig, common as a house plant all over the
US. BUT should never be planted outside in warmer parts of the country as it
will take over.

..then it does not need a dormant period? and

It will still do better with some time outdoors

therefore it is an indoor bonsai? Are figs OK with defoliation?

Ficus Benjamin will frequently die back if all the foliage is removed
from a branch or twig. Use tip pruning and removal of about 1/4 of the larger
leaves at a time over a few months.
