[IBC] More On LS.

Hi There,

I think what this discussion needs is comment from someone that remembers enough of their science to way in regarding "partitioning coefficients". What I recall is that if a solvent/solute (in this case LS ) is added to a solvent, ( in this case ,the water in the pre-wetted wood ) ; then partitioning would result and as the LS solution went in, some of the water in the wood would come out. The LS would wind up partitioned between the two in a ratio described by the partitioning coefficient for the system.

So if I remember this right (Hey, its been 45 years, give me a break ); then it seems to me that applying LS to dry wood will drive in more LS than applying it to wet wood. The concentration of LS in the original LS solution has to be greater than the "partitioned solution" that results from pre-wetted wood.
