Beginner in search of good quality, reasonably priced tools.
Help would be greatly appreciated. I will have to probably purchase off
the Internet as I live in the middle of nowhere. ;)

Visit our web site show (above and below) and check out the vendors on the
left side of the screen. Good tools are expensive and I really don't like the
cheap tools I have. "In general" the Japanese brands or the Jonathan Roth brand
are the best. The Chinese tools I have just don't have the workmanship. Taken
care of properly the good Japanese tools will last a lifetime.
A friend brought me back my first real tools from Japan about 25 years ago,
and I still use them.
Start with branch cutters and shears. Avoid the "Palm Fiber Brush" and the
small "leaf cutters." A root rake might be next. Stainless Steel tools are the
most expensive but my high carbon steel tools have lasted 25 years.
I would buy a tool roll up for them to keep the cleaner and dry.
I wipe my tools down with 3 in 1 Oil after each use.
