Harvesting Chive Seeds & Good Book on Herb Gardening
Thanks to all who responded Using Chives in the landscape. The
information given was extremely helpful. Now, I have a beautiful chive plant, still in its pot, not in the landscape, and it has about 50 purple flowers on it, some on their way out, some in full glory and some on their way in. How exactly does one go about collecting the seeds for next year? I know if I clip the flowers, it will keep the plant from spreading seed profusely, but what do I do if I want to keep some of the seeds? Also, can anyone recommend a good book on herbs - harvesting, growing, using, collecting, etc?
