Default Pepper Variety- Gift from Moldavia?

Several years ago, I grew a variety of pepper called the Gift from Moldavia. I
purchased the seeds from Seed Savers, but no longer see the seeds listed. Can
someone recomend another source?

Cross Countries Nursery
www.chiliplants.com has plants, but
they don't sell seeds. I've ordered plants from them, and they
arrived healthy and ready to pop in the ground. It's a little
pricey to get your pepper plants that way, but it *is* a good way
to get some unusual varieties to try.

Hmmm, a google search turned up this site
http://www.seeds.ca/en.htm which says
that Gift from Moldova is rare. It also has a
great resource list of seed companies that
have heirloom seeds.

glances at watch Damn. I just wasted an hour
drifting through catalogs. Now I have to go and see
if I can find a way to squeeze a few more tomato varieties
into the garden...

Hello Pam! Please tell me which Orange Bell sweet pepper to grow that is the
biggest, blockiest, tastiest, etc.

Thanks,
Bill

myself a break this year and purchase
some.

Er..well, the variety that does best for me in my zone 7/8 yard
might not do well in whatever your zone is. There is also
personal preference to consider. I don't think some of the
bigger bell peppers are the best tasting. And I do all heirlooms
and open-pollonated plants, which excludes a lot of very nice
hybrids.

So, with the above caveats, if I were growing an orange bell
pepper this year -and I'm not- it would be Ariane. Of the 18 or
so varieties of peppers I'm growing this year, only one is a bell
pepper, and it's a red bell, Buran, that I get seeds for from
Seed Savers www.seedsavers.com.

You...you...can drive there? And browse? And pick as
many pepper plants as you want 'cause you don't have
shipping costs? And see their whole lovely operation?

I must despise you now.
