Our citizens who rally to the defense of our country deserve special
praise, but what do they get, beside a few glib remarks?

Since the start of the Afghan war in 2001, the base (Fort Hood) has lost
hundreds of soldiers in combat. More alarmingly to many senior
commanders there, the base has also lost at least 75 of its soldiers to
suicide, one of the heaviest such tolls in the U.S. military.

This day, because of their service, we need to reaffirm that veteran's
(our boys and girls) deserve the best care available to treat their
wounds, and aid to find housing and employment.

Secondly, I find it despicable that warfare is now a game, simple
entertainment, and it's release date is Veteran's Day. This is no way to
honor our fallen, or our veterans.

Support our troops. Bring them home.

I was proud to serve in the R.E.M.E for 12 years 1979-1991 (should have

I think today that only the WW1 and WW2 age group plus servicemen/women and
their families since then really grasp the fragility of liberty and the
brave people we owe ours to.

My wife ask if it was appropriate to say "Happy Veterans Day". I had to say
"No, in reflection, it is never a happy event", but it is good to thank a
Vet
for their contribution.

Thank you.

I would agree with your comment. There are not many that understand nor
that yesterday was for the Veteran, the day for those who had served and
sacrificed. Hence my link to il Silenizo, not just Taps but an inclusive
tribute to all services, all agents and all countries. The song is very
moving in its
tale of living and dying. I have linked Russo's version at the
end.

Also, I find it most disrespectful to politicize this day of the Veteran
because of personal hatred and myopic views.

little dilly billy writes back, typically evading the question :

"Patriotism is the last refuge of the scoundrel." - Samuel Johnson

Gunner writes:

Well, I'm glad I got there first then to keep you little Elfie scoundrels
out.

Back OT, that is what I thought,....yet another "Talker". But your retort
here ranks up there as one of the most chicken shit things for a man I've
ever seen, a loud mouth puss using the Vet as a pawn for his pathetic
little causes.

Your spiting on em, all the while carrying a peace sign. What a puss you
are, little billy. but I gotta say your a gutsy one. Not many folks stand
up and show their true hypocritical colors with such clarity and zeal as you
just did. But I suspect this was but a rare glimpse into your pathetic and
psychotic mind set. You will be back pretending with your faux "citations"
and such again real soon.

Reality is a slippery thing billy, I hope you can get a firm grasp on it
real soon, Alonso.

More Political BS snipped..........seems quotes are a common trait with the
granola group.

.... More irrelevant google searched political BS snipped!

When you find yourself in a hole, Charlie, stop digging!

That was a long way of saying you never served, Charlie. If you had, I
would give you some cover for politicizing Veterans Day, but since you
didn't, you and billy need to quit standing on that soapbox and ****ing on
the Veterans.

As for portending this is a free speech issue? You boys are really
desperate for cover here. This is unbridled propaganda and as usual with
billy, and now you, totally irrelevant.

Your "quoting retort" was a very lame attempt to portend the death of
liberty and that you unsung "heroes" are somehow defending free speech
rights. Thats quite laughable for you two pseudo-intellectuals. No, you
loudmouths just had to politicize Veterans Day and infer psycho talk.
Jonestown Kool-aid? Did you really mean to say "what color the koolaid"
and then pretend that is a free speech dissent issue? Are you seriously
going to stick with that defense, Charlie?

I'm thinking this might be a bit Freudian for you. Were you not the one
advocating for the insane, saying Psych Med jokes were inappropriate? I
gave you that because I figured you and/or one of your was afflicted, but
what a hypocrite you show to be! As for the free speech dissent, please
don't embarrass yourself any further by continuing down that road. You kow
that is not the issue but that is the best cover you can come up with right
now.

You get a bit of wiggle room. You do take the high road some of the time,
but your brother in arms? He's got one oar in the water and he's paddling
hard. You just remain conflicted. There are many differences between
legitimate dissent and the half truths and manipulative bullying little
billy pops off with. That is what your having trouble with. That
disequilibrium between what you know as truth, the fervent dogma you so want
to believe in and the lies and half-truths yopur comrade billy keeps trying
to feed us in his zeal as the self proclaimed "guardian of truth" . I know
you have read all the posts, so you gotta admit your spokesman speaks more
psychotropic induced vision than verifiable fact. He's a little short on
reality. He has had to justify his existence for so long he can't
differentiate fact from fantasy, but you do, even as you stand shoulder to
shoulder and chunk rocks ! The world as we know it is ending and only billy
can save mankind from our own stupidity. It amazes me how billy has the
audacity to challenge scientific theory and fact with google searches. I'm
thinking there is a reason why billy is without a degree, he is too smart
for learning, he's got the Internet and "Right " on his side.

Save your quotes, I can google them as well as you can. They doesn't make
you sound intelligent nor provide you with intelligentsia bona fides.

I still propose you & your little tribe take your dogma and move back over
to RGO and preach it there. As for the luring "lies and links" you guys may
post here, do your "research" carefully. There will be a mid term!

Hmmm. According to you it is political bullshit to ask for support for
our boys and girls in uniform from the horrors (75 suicides at Fort Hood
alone this year) that they are exposed to when they are "stopped lossed"
for multiple tours in the Bush-Obama wars ?
You don't think veterans deserve psychiatric care?
You don't think veterans deserve the best medical care we can give them?
You don't think supporting our veterans in finding jobs and housing is
patriotic?

No, you think a video game, glorifying war (Modern Warfare 2), that
allows players to shoot civilians, is the way to show national
appreciation of our soldiers service?

If we had a point to prove in Iran or Iraq, I think we proved it. It's
past time to bring our boys and girls home.

You evade, dissemble, and wander from any subject you engage in, to
engage in ad hominem attacks and invectives for reasons that aren't
apparent to me. Your repeating of the big lie is all too apparent to
anyone who wants to go back and follow the thread.

You are contemptible.
