Vinegar as weedkiller???

I seem to recall someone posted last year to use something like vinegar to
kill English ivy? If so, please post the info again. I know have a small
amount of 20 percent vinegar (vs. the grocery store vinegar of 5 percent).

Thank you.

Vinegar as weedkiller???

Xref: kermit rec.gardens.edible:57615

the inexpensive 5% is very effective on most vegetation
I use it in a straight stream spray to clear brick and cobblestone walk ways
of unwanted grass and plants.
It is less effective on woody plants. Oak, maple, camphor and brazilian
peppernut sprouts are weeds here. The spray only handles the leaves. I
pull them up, not wanting to increase the amount soaking into the ground.
Continual defoliation of woody plants such as ivy would eventually kill it
off.
