Sugar Baby Watermelon ??s

Sugar baby watermelons were recommended to me for my area in several
references I checked.
I must be doing something wrong. I am getting small vines, really small,
but long with watermelony looking leaves. but they have not bloomed or set
any fruit. The regular watermelon is doing the same. They were planted
much earlier this spring.
They are in good soil, get good sun, and water.
Any ideas?

Did you transplant plants or plant seeds? If they got cold after
transplanting, it really stunts their growth. You said "good sun". They
need 6 to 10 hours per day, preferably before the heat of the day.

I have never done well with sugar babies. Crimson Sweet came out much
better, and I have done well with yellow meated watermelons.

Muskmelons are foolproof as far as picking when mature though. I usually
pick 6 or 8 watermelons before they are ready.

Have Fun, Dwayne
