What's eating my sweet pepper leaves ?

My sweet peppers have developed eight-inch holes, and some nibbling on
the edges. I can't see any of the critters. It's possible it happened
last night. FWIW I'm in central NJ.

Any ideas what I've got and what I should do about it ?

By the looks of the posts like this the past couple days, we've had a
nationwide invasion of slugs and snails...
