Recommendations for water movement in tank

I have a 58G tank with a Penguin filter. I am using an airstone for water
movement.
This is a planted tank. What do you suggest so I have some water movement?
Is it needed?

Thanks

I would just have a very gentle surfrace agitation, nothing more than
that as excessive water movent at the surface can rid your aquarium of
CO2 which the plants obviously need, the effect is similar to shaking up
a fizzy drinks can,
