Do you think this Drs F & Smith needle valve
http://www.drsfostersmith.com/produc...=6&pCatId=4598 is the same valve as the top one shown here http://www.specialtymfg.com/needle.htm with the options of 1/8 " barbs for input and output? No! The Specialty Manufacturing Standart valve looks like the one
DrsFosterSmith sells, but it is NOT the same thing. The Specialty Manufacturing Standart valve needs only 2-1/2 turns to go from fully open to fully closed position. It works, but it's not precise at all. You are better off with the $5 Home Depot brass needle valve. The Specialty Manufacturing Mini Needle Valve is a bit better - about 5 turns, but still not very precise. Works fine though. Specialty Manufacturing has a minimum order of $50. But I think their standart and their mini check valves are a great deal - cheap, metalic, no rubber to deteriorate. Compare to a $30-something Dennerle plastic check valve from Marine Monsters or a $.99 plastic/rubber one from your LFS. The Fishvet.com guy sells a needle valve that looks like the Specialty Manufacturing Standart valve, but has like 6-1/2 turns. That one is good enough. The Fishvet guy does not take merchandise back as I hear. I find the Marine Monsters standart valve to be the best from the one I've used myself. Marine Monsters may have not so good of a customer service, but their merchandise is great. --Nikolay "Bob Alston" wrote in message .. . Any problems or issues they correct. The products they sell are good! Buzz "Bob Alston" wrote in message ... If you look at the yellow block of text in the web site, you can see that there is a 6.5 turns version available. Wonder if that is the same one as Fish Vet?? Somewhere, another online fish store, I saw what appears to be the same valve but said 4 turns of revolution. Bob -- Bob Alston 918.494.4913 "nikolay_kraltchev" wrote in message m... No!
