What are some good pointers to keep these two plants, growing, thriving, and
healthy?

I assume you take them out of the pots?

What about splitting them?? possible, not recommended?

I guess I'll also go look up the basics, but am curious to success stories
from experienced growers.... I've never had them, but my Crypts, are growing
again like weeds... I love that Flourite!!!!

to algae infestation). Water changes. Don't dip them in paint thinner.
Don't put them in the oven.

Yes. Plant them either in the gravel with the roots under and the rhizome
(the long thick horizontal trunk) above the gravel level. Or you can place
them in a niche between rocks or a gap in a piece of wood- either works.

between two nodes (IE where the leaves and roots pop out) firmly. Plant
both halves, and they should recover. If you get rhizome rot after this,
cut off the rotting part (it will be brown and squishy) as the rot can and
will spread and eat the whole thing.

I was told Crypt wenditti was hard... so I got 2... 1 thrived, 1 was eaten
by my pl*co... the one that lived, grew dormant... I was about to do a
gravel cleaning and found 12 little rhyzomes around the base, 5-9" out, so I
just jumped up and down.... It Lives!!!! so I went and got about 7 more
different plants, 2 anubias, anachris, some more crypts, and other un-ID'd
plants....

I am new to plants in general too. I just got an anubia and was told to keep
it in the pot so I buried just a bit where the roots were sticking out.

Should I remove the pot for best results?

It really does not matter- anubius feeds primarily from the water column,
and the roots are more for anchor than anything else.

Personally, I would remove the pot for aesthetic reasons.

If you do so, snip the sides and bottom of the pot with scissors, then bull
the rockwool off in small strips gently.

You can tie them to wood, take them out of the pot.
When splitting make sure to use a sharp razor and cut @ a angle. Very
hardy plant!!
