Default VHO vs. Standard Fluorescent

Should have added: a 'complete' fluorescent fixture includes
bulbs, cord and plug - you should be able to walk over to a wall
socket in the store, plug it in, and turn it on. In a livingroom
you will certainly prefer the colour of white or warm-white tubes
to the office-style cool-white. Of course it must direct the
light downwards, fit your aquarium, and look decent (after a
paint job). You don't want a diffusing cover, as they just absorb
light - of course it may be cheapest to get a unit with one and
pitch it!
